Tari

Tari

Tari from Charazani, province of Chayanta in the department of La Paz.

Textiles from Charazani are a great cultural example of the ancestral heritage of the region. It is an expression of the manual agility of the locals and follow the ethnic and social identity of the Kallawayas or Shamans who are an itinerant group of traditional healers living in this region.

The figurative symbolism and the variety of designs that integrate representations of animals, flora and other characteristic motifs, are seen throughout the textiles.

This is a vintage piece - this is a real aqsu that belonged to someone for likely decades. We take great care in hand selecting the pieces we choose and while for the most part they are in amazing conditions, these have been loved and used for many many years and therefore aren't perfect 'brandnew' items. We feel this adds to the beauty and uniqueness of these pieces, and we hope you do too.
