Vintage Camas, or Frazadas.

Typically used as bed spreads all over Bolivia by both the Aymara and Quechua cultures. The whole procces to make these pieces is entirely by hand. It starts with the wool, either sheep or llama that is clipped, collected and cleaned. It is then dyed using a mixure of natural plant based and aniline dyes.

The Cama  is usually woven on a 'backstrap' loom, a simple device that passes behind the weavers back. Each is done in two separate parts which are then sewn together. The design is simple, yet the colors are vibrant and stunning.

Camas make unique bed spreads at the foot of the bed, throws, colorfull rugs, tablecloths and great picnic blankets.

White Alpaca Natural - Cama

  • Product Info

This is a vintage piece - this is a real Cama that belonged to someone for likely decades. We take great care in hand selecting the pieces we choose and while for the most part they are in amazing conditions, these have been loved and used for many many years and therefore aren't perfect 'brandnew' items. We feel this adds to the beauty and uniqueness of these pieces, and we hope you do too.
